Glossary Term
AWD (Amazon Warehousing and Distribution)
A bulk storage and distribution solution by Amazon that automatically replenishes FBA inventory to prevent stockouts.
What is Amazon AWD?
Think of AWD as Amazon’s version of a long-term warehouse. Instead of sending all your stock to FBA centers (where storage is expensive), you send bulk shipments to AWD. Amazon then automatically "drips" that inventory into FBA centers as needed.
Labeling for AWD
Since AWD involves bulk shipments, accurate pallet and master carton labeling is vital. If your box content information or thermal labels are blurry, your inventory could get lost in the bulk shuffle.
- Lower storage fees compared to standard FBA.
- Automatic replenishment helps maintain a healthy IPI score.
- Ideal for sellers with high-volume, consistent sales.
