Lithium Battery Labeling
A mandatory safety labeling requirement for shipments containing lithium-ion or lithium-metal batteries, designed to ensure safe handling during transit.
Safety First for Electronics
Lithium batteries are considered "Dangerous Goods" because they can catch fire if damaged. Every box containing items like power banks, laptops, or rechargeable toys must have a specific "UN" battery label (like UN3481) and a phone number for emergency contact. Without this label, your shipment can be ground-rejected or held by customs.
Amazon’s Battery Compliance
When you create a shipment in Seller Central, you must declare if it contains batteries. Amazon will then prompt you for the specific labeling requirements. Many sellers use a dedicated warning label maker to print these labels on-demand in the correct size (standard 120mm x 110mm) to ensure 100% compliance.
- Labels must have the correct UN code (e.g., UN3480 for standalone batteries).
- Requires a red border for visibility.
- A contact phone number is mandatory on the label.
