Glossary Term

ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number)

A unique 10-character alphanumeric identifier assigned by Amazon for product identification within its ecosystem.

The DNA of an Amazon Listing

Every product on Amazon has an ASIN. It’s like a social security number for your product. While books use ISBNs, almost everything else uses an ASIN. You can find it in the product URL or under the "Product Information" section of any listing.

ASIN vs. FNSKU

Many beginners confuse the two. An ASIN identifies the *type* of product (e.g., a Blue XL T-shirt), while an FNSKU identifies that specific product *belonging to you*. When printing labels, you usually print the FNSKU, not the ASIN.
