Glossary Term
FBM (Fulfillment by Merchant)
A selling method on Amazon where the seller is responsible for storing inventory, packing orders, and shipping them directly to the customer.
Control Your Own Logistics
FBM gives you complete control over your inventory and shipping costs. This is often preferred by sellers with oversized items, low-margin products, or those who want to use their own custom-branded packaging. While you lose the automatic "Prime" advantage of FBA, you avoid Amazon’s storage and fulfillment fees.
The FBM Labeling Workflow
In FBM, you aren’t just printing FNSKUs; you are printing shipping labels (UPS, FedEx, USPS) for every single order. Efficiency is key here. Using a tool that integrates directly with your Amazon or Mercari dashboard to resize these labels for thermal printers can save you hours of work every week.
- Lower fees compared to FBA for certain items.
- Better for products with low turnover or high storage costs.
- Allows for custom branding and marketing inserts.
