Glossary Term

Delivery Confirmation Label

An auxiliary label or barcode used by carriers to provide proof that a package was successfully delivered to the recipient.

Peace of Mind for Sellers

A Delivery Confirmation Label is what gives you that 'Delivered' status in your tracking app. When the carrier scans this barcode at the customer's doorstep, the system automatically records the date, time, and sometimes the GPS location of the delivery.

Reducing 'Item Not Received' Claims

In e-commerce, customers occasionally claim they never got their package even if it shows as delivered. Having a clear delivery confirmation scan is your first line of defense. Without it, you almost always lose the dispute and have to refund the money.

  • Standard on most UPS, FedEx, and USPS services.
  • Provides a digital paper trail for every shipment.
  • Helps calculate actual transit times for your business.

Signature vs. Standard Confirmation

Standard confirmation just says the box was left at the address. If you are selling high-value items, you should upgrade to 'Signature Confirmation.' This requires a person to actually sign for the box, adding an extra layer of security and proof.

Printing for Scannability

Since this barcode is scanned outside (often in bright sun or rain), the print quality must be perfect. If the barcode is too light, the driver's handheld device won't be able to read it, which might result in a missing delivery status for your customer.
